To show you the intent of my writing.Ĭalling me an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is in fact very snarky and bad taste from you, buddy. Try to remember that you have no clue what people on the other side of the screen might be really thinking. You do see the grinning pig? Smileys or emotes like that are usually used on the internet to clarify that you made a joke. Originally posted by Attila the Hun:Thank you. However, it would be nice to see an indy developer try to compete in this space, since AFAIK smash has no direct competitor on steam. I agree that there would be a lot of issues of making a super smash brother like mode centered around resolve, upgrades, and the various classes and that idea wasn't well thought out from me. Online coop could bring in lots of new revenue and game purchases post release and bring a second life to this game months after release. Since they are casuals, this wouldn't even need to be that well balanced since casuals are mostly bad at games like this anyways. There are lots of casual gamers who like to play with friends.
#FLATOUT 4 COUCH MULTIPLAYER PATCH#
I don't think you made a really good argument for why the Devs wouldn't want to at least consider making a coop patch post release. Try to remember that you have no clue what people on the other side of the screen might be going through in life so try not to be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. That last comment you made was a bit snarky and in bad taste. But drunk ideas are rarely the best.:lunar2019grinningpig: Single player games will always work and sell well. Just look at stuff like Witcher, Horizon, God of War, Zelda, most Mario games btw :lunar2019coolpig: and so on. Originally posted by Omegatherion:Some games are just not made for a multi player experience. Just look at stuff like Witcher, Horizon, God of War, Zelda, most Mario games btw and so on. Co-Op is not the holy grail of video games. There are plenty of consumers who are just flat out not interested in single player games anymore unless there is some potential coop experience.Īnd at least as many who like to just play a game on their own for once. If anything we have enough of these already. Not everything needs a game mode like this.

This game would NEVER work as a battle royal. Especially at this point, where most of it is already done.Īnd about Plan B - Hell, no. It would be a LOT of work to revamp this game like that. I don't know.Īnd making a game work on multiplayer that was originally designed for single players is much harder than "just finding some balance(maybe 1.5-2.5x more enemies dunno?)". Some games are just not made for a multi player experience. I understand you need new revenue streams but don't try to find the equilibrium price on the supply/demand curve.

If you ever decided to go this route, please don't price gouge new skins etc. Imagine using your random map generating skills that your team has developed to make some crazy random maps instead of the procedural ones in smash. With some work, the fight mechanics here between different classes just might, with enough creativity, has some potential of competing in this space. But at the moment Super Smash Bros has no direct competitor on steam (that I know of). This would take a bit of work and might need to be a separate DLC. Instead of items in super smash bros, you have potential relic power ups, etc. Patch B (DLC) late 2022 or as a separate game (do NOT make this FTP please)īattle Royal - And this is where the big money might be for you - Basically make it similar to super smash brothers but with your own creative twist. There are plenty of other independent game developers in your space who have succeeded at this. Just find some balance (maybe 1.5-2.5x more enemies dunno?). There are plenty of consumers who are just flat out not interested in single player games anymore unless there is some potential coop experience. Online coop - Play with a friend! This is honestly all the rad in steam games over the last 5 or so years.

I see no reason why, maybe in a future patch after this game releases - we could have a something like, Fast forward to today and there is plenty of Rogue-Lites that offer a similar experience. Where a second player could play as tails. Fast forward to today and that sort of evolved in the super smash brothers. You know what would be really fun? Back in the day of Nintendo, we had the first coop experience with one of the Mario games where you would jump on eachother and go through pipes and what not.
